The spring they frequented, which still bubbles behind today's city hall, provides water for the municipal swimming pool.

The effort was later dubbed The Quiet Revolution.

Their mission, dubbed "Operation Pastorious," was to commit acts of terrorism in large cities. However, all were captured when two of the Germans alerted federal authorities.
